Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
TrustShield is a browser extension that audits an e-commerce storefront for the trust-signal and misrepresentation gaps that can suspend an ad account, and returns a ranked fix-list. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles. The short version: your store's data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
What stays on your device
- The audit runs locally. When you click the icon, TrustShield reads the storefront page you have open and fetches that store's own policy pages (refund, shipping, privacy, terms, about, contact) in your browser to check them. The page content, the text it scans, and the resulting report are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us.
- Reports are generated locally. The on-screen report and any exported PDF are produced in your browser and saved by you. We never receive them.
- Local settings. Your Pro license key (if entered), saved store profiles, and a random device identifier are stored locally in the browser.
Network requests
- License validation contacts our server. When you activate or re-check a Pro license, the extension sends to our licensing service (operated on Cloudflare) your license key, a random device identifier (used to enforce the per-license device limit; not tied to your identity), and the product name ("trustshield"). Nothing else is transmitted, and the free version never contacts our server.
- No store data is ever sent. The license call contains no part of your storefront, policy pages, product text, page content, or audit report.
Permissions
- activeTab — lets TrustShield read the current store page only after you click the toolbar icon.
- scripting — injects the audit into the current tab when you invoke it.
- storage — stores your license key, saved store profiles, and settings locally.
- host access to
ts-license.vietcodex.dev— used solely for the Pro license check described above. TrustShield does not request broad access to the sites you visit.
Purchases
Payments for TrustShield Pro are processed by Paddle, the Merchant of Record and data controller for your payment information. We do not see or store your card details. From a completed purchase we receive your email address and a transaction identifier, used to issue your license key and provide support. See Paddle's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not include third-party analytics or tracking in the extension.
TrustShield's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
Data retention & your rights
Local data is removed when you clear the extension's storage or uninstall it. License records (key, purchase email, device activations) are kept while the license is active. To request access to or deletion of your license data, email us.
