Privacy Policy

JobPostGuard is a browser extension that audits a job posting for US pay-transparency and hiring-bias compliance and returns a ranked fix-list. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles. The short version: the posting you audit stays on your device and is never sent to us.
What stays on your device
- The audit runs locally. When you click the icon, JobPostGuard reads the job posting page you have open (its structured data and text) to check it. The page content, the text it scans, and the resulting report are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us.
- Reports are generated locally. The on-screen report and any exported PDF are produced in your browser and saved by you. We never receive them.
- Local settings. Your Pro license key (if entered) and a random device identifier are stored locally in the browser.
Network requests
- License validation contacts our server. When you activate or re-check a Pro license, the extension sends to our licensing service (on Cloudflare) your license key, a random device identifier (to enforce the per-license device limit; not tied to your identity), and the product name ("jobpostguard"). Nothing else is transmitted, and the free version never contacts our server.
- No posting data is ever sent. The license call contains no part of the job posting, its text, or the audit report.
Permissions
- activeTab — lets JobPostGuard read the current job posting only after you click the toolbar icon.
- scripting — injects the audit into the current tab when you invoke it.
- storage — stores your license key and settings locally.
- host access to
jpg-license.vietcodex.dev— used solely for the Pro license check above. JobPostGuard does not request broad access to the sites you visit.
Purchases
Payments for JobPostGuard Pro are processed by Paddle, the Merchant of Record and data controller for your payment information. We do not see or store your card details. From a completed purchase we receive your email address and a transaction identifier, used to issue your license key and provide support. See Paddle's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not include third-party analytics or tracking in the extension.
JobPostGuard's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
