Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

These terms govern your use of the StepRecorder browser extension and the StepRecorder Pro license, provided by Vietcodex ("we", "us"). By installing or using StepRecorder you agree to them.

1. The service

StepRecorder records the interactions you perform on a web page and lets you replay them and export them as Playwright/Cypress test stubs, JSON, and a numbered screenshot strip. The free plan records up to a limited number of steps and exports to Playwright. StepRecorder Pro removes the step limit and unlocks Cypress/JSON export, the screenshot strip, and cross-page replay.

2. License

StepRecorder Pro is sold as a one-time license for personal or commercial use, activatable on up to three devices per license, and includes updates to the extension. You may not resell, sublicense, or share your license key. We may deactivate keys that are shared or obtained fraudulently.

3. Acceptable use

StepRecorder records and replays interactions you perform, on demand, for development and QA. You agree to use it lawfully and only on sites and accounts you are authorized to test, and to respect the terms of service of those sites. You are responsible for how you use recordings, the tests it exports, and any flow you replay.

4. Best-effort tooling

Recorded selectors, secret masking, replay, and exported tests are best-effort and may need review or adjustment for your site. We do not guarantee that a recording will replay or export flawlessly on every page. Review recordings before sharing or running them.

5. Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Prices may change, but changes do not affect licenses already purchased.

6. Refunds

See our Refund Policy.

7. Warranty & liability

StepRecorder is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
